PTFE Corrugated Tube

Accordion-profile virgin PTFE tube — extreme flexibility, no braid, no fittings required. For tight-radius routing, vibration isolation, and dynamic applications.

About PTFE Corrugated Tube

PTFE Corrugated Tube — also called convoluted tube — is a plain PTFE tube with an accordion-fold profile on the outer wall. Unlike standard smooth-bore PTFE tubing, the corrugated geometry allows the tube to flex significantly tighter without kinking, compressing, or losing its bore cross-section. There is no stainless steel braid, no overbraid, and no fittings required for most installations: just bare PTFE in a flexible, self-supporting form.

Advanced Fluro Private Limited manufactures corrugated PTFE tubes from virgin-grade PTFE resin using a controlled extrusion and corrugation process. The result is a flexible tube with the full chemical resistance and temperature range of virgin PTFE, in a form that bends and routes in spaces a rigid tube cannot reach. Applications include expansion joints, instrument connections, pump vibration isolation, chemical transfer through tight enclosures, and flexible gas sampling lines.

Classification of PTFE Tubes

Small-Bore Corrugated Tube (3–10mm ID)
Primarily used for instrument connections, sample lines, sensor protection, and fine chemical dosing. Highly flexible — can form tight loops in confined instrument cabinets.
Medium-Bore Corrugated Tube (10–25mm ID)
The most common range for process piping flexibility applications — pump connections, expansion joints, and hose replacement in chemical plants and pharmaceutical facilities.
Large-Bore Corrugated Tube (25mm+ ID)
Used in high-volume chemical transfer, pipe expansion joints, and aggressive-media fume extraction. Can substitute metal bellows expansion joints in corrosive environments.

PTFE Corrugated Tube: Unique Characteristics

Extreme Flexibility
Accordion corrugation allows a 40–60% tighter minimum bend radius compared to smooth-bore PTFE tube of the same bore diameter — no kinking, no collapse.
Full PTFE Temperature Range
Continuous service from −200°C to +260°C. Same temperature performance as smooth natural PTFE — the corrugation adds flexibility without affecting thermal properties.
Universal Chemical Resistance
Virgin PTFE inner bore — resistant to virtually all acids, alkalis, solvents, and aggressive chemicals. Suitable for concentrated nitric acid, aqua regia, and caustics.
Vibration & Movement Absorption
Corrugated geometry absorbs axial compression, lateral deflection, and angular misalignment — ideal as a flexible element on pump inlets and compressor connections.
No Braid — No Contamination Risk
Pure PTFE tube with no metallic overbraid or textile sleeve. Suitable for high-purity applications where metallic particles or fibre migration would be a concern.
FDA & High-Purity Compliant
Virgin PTFE meets FDA 21 CFR 177.1550. No plasticisers, extractables, or binders — safe for food, pharmaceutical, and medical fluid contact.
Self-Supporting Profile
The corrugated profile gives the tube a degree of rigidity in the radial direction while remaining flexible axially — it holds its shape when not under load.
